Our Aim
Ditch your preconceptions about the WI, it's not what you think, it's what You make it!
Our aim as a local group is to make it vibrant, fun and interesting whilst caring and inclusive for women of all ages. Did you know you can become a member from the age of 18 and visitors can attend meetings form the age of 16.
What we do
Our members enjoy a wide variety of topics as illustrated in our annual programme of events - which is designed to suit all tastes. We also organise fundraisers, bus trips and other social events throughout the year - which are in addition to our published programme.
Being a member also provides women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills & campaign on issues that matter to them and their local community. From January 2024 there is a new comprehensive education programme providing easy access courses online - accessed through the WI Learning Hub, which is free to members. So you can attend courses that interest you from the comfort of your own home - at a time that is convenient to you.
Our WI also supports the local community by making charitable donations to local worthwhile causes. So why not come along as a visitor first before joining? You will be made very welcome! Visitors pay a fee of £5 per visit. Annual membership is currently £48 (pro-rata).
We meet at The Centre on the second Wednesday of each month 7.30pm - 9.00pm.
